Adrian spent the next eight years working as an actor in the UK after earning a degree in law and psychology from Keele University. His theatre credits there include Hair, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Comedy of Errors, The Magic Fundoshi (named best comedy at the London Fringe Theatre Awards), The Mens Womb, A Christmas Carol, Tormented, The Circles of Paradise, One for the Road, Sleeping Beauty, New Territories, Take Away, Leaving Turn

His appearances on UK television include The Fragile Heart, in which he starred opposite the late, great Sir Nigel Hawthorne, Lovejoy, in which he costarred with Ian McShane, Arabian Nights, in which he costarred with Jason Scott Lee, as well as Happiness, Bugs, Call Red, Taggart, The Knock, Trauma, and The Bill.

In addition to playing the lead in Spiralling, which won the Best Film Award at the International Solidarity Festival, Adrian also starred in Tony Scott’s Spy Game with Brad Pitt and Robert Redford, Nightwatch with Pierce Brosnan, Everybody Loves Sunshine with David Bowie, Michael Mann’s Blackhat with Chris Hemsworth, Peggy Su!, Night Swimmer, Yellow Fever, A Brief Walk, Offending Angels, Second Generation, Bait, I Do I Do, Dance Dance

He would periodically travel back to Singapore during that time to perform on stage productions. He is best known for playing Hamlet’s title character, but he has also appeared in Little Shop of Horrors, Into the Woods, The Glass Menagerie, and They’re Playing Our Song opposite Lea Salonga. He was then arguably best recognised for his part in the iconic Singapore film Forever Fever.

His work on Singapore TV, which included dramas like Portrait of Home, Nanny Daddy, Ah Girl (winner of the Asian Television Awards for Best Actor in a Comedy Series), Red Thread (winner of the Asian Television Awards for Best Actor in a Drama Series), Polo Boys, The Pupil (Seasons 1 & 2), Parental Guidance, Maggi and Me, Pulau Hantu, Do Not Disturb, 9 Lives, Durian King, and the acclaimed Six

He has performed in the lead parts in plays such as Macbeth, The LKY Musical, Boeing Boeing, Twelfth Night, Forbidden City, Barefoot in the Park, A Twist of Fate, and God of Carnage on the Singaporean stage.

Adrian received nominations for The Odd Couple, The Pillowman, The Full Monty, Dealer’s Choice, Swimming with Sharks, Frozen, and Next to Normal at the Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards. He also won the Best Actor Award four times for his performances in The Dresser, Much Ado About Nothing, Rabbit Hole, and The LKY Musical.

Adrian is on the list of the top 300 industry leaders for the arts, media, and entertainment according to Tatler. He won the Elle Actor of the Year Award in 2012, the StylexStyle Inspiration Award in 2016, and the Tatler Leadership Award for Culture in 2014.

The Full Monty, Closer, Dealer’s Choice, Spring Awakening, Swimming with Sharks, Rabbit Hole, Next to Normal (which won Production of the Year at the ST Life! Theatre Awards), Gruesome Playground Injuries, Fat Pig, The Rise & Fall of Little Voice, Frozen, Circle Mirror Transformation, Tribes, Chinglish, The Effect, and Falling (which won four awards at the ST Life! Theatre Awards, including Best Play, Best Director, Best Act The Father, Dragonflies (winner of the 2018 ST Life! Theatre Award for Production of the Year), and Peter and the Starcatcher are all part of Pangdemonium’s 2018 Season. Adrian performed in the 2019 productions of This Is What Happens to Pretty Girls and Late Company, both of which were part of Pandemonium’s 2019 Season.

Adrian will have a thrilling year in 2020, one in which he will receive significant media attention on numerous platforms. Adrian began the year as a guest editor for the Discover Singapore campaign of SilverKris magazine’s cuisine section. Almost shortly after, Adrian started making plans for The Son, the first episode of Pangdemonium, which premiered to acclaim. Adrian will return to the small screen in 2020 for the fifth season of the well-regarded courtroom drama Code of Law, playing seasoned attorney Dennis Tang. Adrian also appears in season two of the HBO-Viu thriller The Bridge online. Adrian may also be seen on a number of Alcon’s Multifocal Contact Lens campaign posters through May 2020.

Above all, Adrian is particularly pleased with the work of his two kids, Zack and Xander.
